5-year old Carter Craig constantly dreamed of being a real cowboy, but his parents believed he might never get to experience life at the rodeo last year when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Doctors discovered a rare kind of tumor in Carter’s brain that caused him to experience seizures. The tumor is merely treatable, but unfortunately not curable.
So local charity Dreaming Of Three teamed up with Salem Rodeo Volunteers to give a memory of a lifetime to Carter, at Salem Rodeo.
Carter was able to meet some rodeo clowns…
…; and to also have his favourite cowboy hat signed by some bull riding champs…
…; and afterwards, he rode a horse himself.
His mother told KLFY, “It’s really nice because our life started to revolve around hospitals and doctors every few weeks and this is a complete break from it.”
Kevin Debunsk of Salem Rodeo said it was no trouble whatsoever to welcome Carter and his family.
He said, “If nothing else, we’ve given them a great memory.”
A heartwarming story. This has been a memorable day for carter, as well as for his family.
